  Hi Maximus,

  When you said, "...You will find that Ray will simply not discuss anything that even borders on titillation..." did you mean Ray Franz, or is Room215 named Ray? I'm also curious if you meant that an account of what happened in the spring of 1969 in Bethel is something that "borders on titilation". To me it is part of the history of this pretentious organization. I have trouble understanding how protecting the false "governing body" is a service to anyone. To me, that WOULD be "being Christian to a FAULT," perhaps even cowardly.

  I'm not interested in the names of any of the Bethel 'boys" who were ousted in 1969, but I am interested in the events that precipitated their dismissal and in the quality of justice that they got.

  Seems a bunch of us DO know Howard Zenke. The worst thing I could say about him is that he was capable of being quite the unfeeling Theocrat in his treatment of people and families in distress. In one situation that we discussed, he told me that if a certain party in the congregation wanted to commit suicide, that was their decision.

  I was just a guy in his Queens NY congregation, not a "man of priviledge," certainly not someone he would choose to spend his free time with, just an ordinary publisher.

  URGENT , Got meeting tonight(Beards)

  anyone got any good information as to why dubs dont like beards?

  in 18 years, i have yet to understand why.

  if its brought up tonight by anyone, what should i say?

  Yes, the events of 1969 are the ones I'm referring to. What was the basis of the accusation(s)? Was it all based on hearsay and "guilt by association?"

  I think I mentioned in other posts here that my Jdub experience was in New York, and one of the comments reminded me about the "sauna" scandal years and years ago. Can anyone offer an anonymized account of what happened then? I'll admit, it's simply "morbid curiousity."

  Also - ROOM215 - I knew Zenke. Is it possible I know you?

  a while back a few of us discussed setting up a fund for ray franz, which i think is an excellent idea.

  he has done so much for so many people and deserves financial help.

  It might be interesting to ask your relative what (s)he knows about the 7th Day Adventists beliefs, and "investigate" those beliefs with your JDub relative. Then ask which doctrines are unique to the Dubs and if these alone can prove it's the trooth.

  I have no objection to the idea of a fund, but I'd like to know how that would be better than just sending him a gift directly. All we would need for that woould be a verified reliable address or contact.

  (Such an address or contact may already be available. I don't know.)
